Welcome to the 4th annual Big Sky
Futurity & Aged Event!
We have several exciting
changes to tell you about for this year’s Big Sky Aged
Event. First off , a brand new venue, same great town! The
King Arena, located just one mile east of Great Falls,
offers a great indoor arena for our show pen; as well as a
Montana picturesque setting for all of us to experience and
enjoy. John Camp and his crew at the King Arena have worked
tirelessly and gone all out to help us once again produce
the top quality, truly unique Big Sky Futurity & Aged Event.
Once again, The Big Sky Aged Event has some fun activities planned for
you this week. Kicking off our week Monday evening is the
1st annual BSAE Team Branding-Riding, Roping, Draggin and
Branding-ok cutters, here’s your chance to showcase more
of those “cowboy skills” we are all so proud of!
Thursday afternoon offers a great opportunity to
come and watch the best of the best Classic/Challenge horses
cut it up competing for the BSAE 5/6 Open Championship.
Following our Open 5/6 Finals, we will be Calcuttaing both
our Pro/ Am teams, as well as our Bridleless competitors.
Dru always delivers a fun, fast paced Calcutta for all of us
to participate in and hopefully win! So come ready to bid
and then stay to watch the first half of our Pro/Am Class,
featuring the Open riders. The second go of our Pro/Am takes
place Friday afternoon, same great horses, but it’s the
AM/NP rider’s time to shine.
6:30 pm Friday evening is the time set for our
Tough Enough To Wear Pink
Bridleless Cutting. This has proven to be a spectacular
event enjoyed by all. Last year with $2,000 raised and 400
in attendance the Big Sky Aged Event, along with the Great
Falls community proudly showed its support for the fight
against breast cancer— cowboy style!! So be sure to sport
some pink, grab two cans of food for the Great Falls
Community Food Bank, and come out and enjoy our “Cuttin’ For
A Cure” Bridleless event.
In conjunction with our TETWP Bridleless cutting,
the Big Sky Aged Event is proud to host a live auction
benefitting both the MCHA Angela Bauer Youth Scholarship
Fund and the Montana Cutting Horse Association. We will be
auctioning off two great items; an incredible African Safari
trip and the original framed artwork “Ride of Your Life” by
artist Valerie Hinz.
Lastly, the Big Sky Aged Event would like to take this opportunity to
acknowledge and thank all of our great sponsors-we couldn’t
have done this without
you—THANK YOU!
Let’s cut!
